• help students develop and improve science journaling skills,
• accurately record class information/data,
• organize their writings in a meaningful order,
• and assess student work to include insights and misconceptions.
Annette Venegas
As a science specialist at Region 20, Annette Venegas, M.Ed. is
involved with science instruction, curriculum design, assessment,
teacher training, and laboratory safety. Her goal is to improve the
delivery of science instruction for all learners and to raise the
scientific literacy of students, teachers, and community members
through teaching and presentations. She has provided workshops and
trainings throughout Texas, including sessions at the Conference for
Advancement of Science Teachers (CAST), Texas Council of Elementary
Science (TCES), Texas Science Education Leadership Association (TSELA),
Texas Regional Collaboratives (TRC), Our Lady of the Lake University
(OLLU), University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), and numerous
districts statewide.
