All great leaders are able to inspire others to take positive action. Principals will participate in a book study with emphasis on discussion on modeling effective instructional behavior and learning/relearning leadership skills. The principal is the key to success in any school and so it is important that he/she understands this role and is able to communicate just what is to be undertaken.

Jane Cobia
F. Jane Cobia is currently the chair of the Department of Education at the Shorter College in Rome, Georgia. She teaches curriculum, methodology, and seminar classes. Over the past 28 years, Jane has had a wide range of experience in education, from being an instructor, to an educational specialist, to Assistant Superintendent, to Coordinator of Career and Technical Programs, to Superintendent of a district in Alabama. Dr. Cobia holds many positions with educational associations and currently sits on the International Board of Directors with ASCD.
