Conscious Discipline: Creating Emotional Intelligent Schools Where Social and Academice Skills Soar
Conscious Discipline® is a comprehensive classroom management program that integrates social emotional learning into academics, promotes character education, and creates a positive school climate.
This all happens by changing our perception of and response to everyday conflicts. Nationwide, schools utilizing Conscious Discipline® experience immediate benefits including a significant reduction in discipline referrals, classrooms running in an orderly manner, children who are intrinsically motivated, bullying being replaced by kindness, and joy returning to teachers' hearts. This workshop will give participants an overview of Conscious Discipline® and the successes that are possible with its implementation.
Conscious Discipline Boot Camp: Putting principles in practice
Are you ready for the challenge of staying conscious in a conflict moment? Teachers are "in the trenches" managing the stress and stress-related behaviors of today's classroom. This presentation

Sit still, pay attention, and look at me: Understanding and developing attention skills in all children
The ability to filter out distractions and sustain attention to tasks that may have little or no personal meaning is a difficult skill for many of us. Often, out of lack of knowledge and frustration, we resort to demanding a child's attention (Sit Still and Look at Me). Sometimes we fall into the belief that if we can have them sit still and pay attention In circle time for ten minutes when they are two years old that they will be prepared for a 20 minute circle time at age four. Attention is a complex skill that does not develop through stamina training. This session will provide you with the knowledge of how
attention develops, interventions for the "fidgeting, impulsive, I can't wait" children as well as fun activities and games which will optimize the deveiopment of attention for the children in your classroom.
In this workshop you will learn:
• The underlying neurophysiology behind impulsiveness, distraction,
and aggression, PLUS what to do about it.
